User Experience

'User experience' can mean different things to different people. At RocketBoots we apply it in four ways:

  1. User Stories – When we initialy analyse the business requirements for an application, we need to acknowledge that it might be possible to deliver our customer's requirements while missing those of our customer's customers - the users. To manage this risk we include stories framed from the user's perspective (and extending beyond the scope of the solution to include other touch points between the business and the user) alongside our customer's requirements, and ensure that both stories and requirements are given equal weight. RocketBoots works with some of the region's best exponents of these strategic techniques.
  2. Usability Testing – When paper or electronic prototypes are tested with end users it's often surprising how the best thought out ideas can fail to translate to actual use. The only way to tune and confirm an idea is through rigorous usability testing, with real users, early and often. Again our community includes some of the most experienced usability testers in Australia and New Zealand.
  3. Accessibility – Accessibility is and should be a key user experience consideration of every solution you deploy. RocketBoots is familiar with the Section 508 requirements for web accessibilty, but we're also not locked into delivering accessibility soley through the browser. With our experience developing solutions using Flash, advanced graphics, artificial intelligence, desktop and mobile applications, audio, PDF, print and telephone voice response systems we can choose truly appropriate technologies to really meet your user's accessibility requirements.
